Week 9 - Upcoming Events & Saturday Night Game @ Newark Catholic

After three crazy weeks (8^th Grade Band Night, Homecoming, and Parent/Teacher Conferences), we have a ‘semi’ normal week ahead. The one exception, of course, is our football game is Saturday @ Newark Catholic.

Here’s a list of upcoming events:

• WIMBA Meeting – Tonight @ 6PM in the WYHS Band Room. As always, all band parents are welcome. The more folks who come, the more we can do for our students.
• Thursday Night Sectionals/Rehearsal – Lots to do this week; and the weather is looking pretty good!!!
• Football game @ Newark Catholic – SATURDAY – Band Call @ 5:15PM : Uniforms: WINTER
• Next Week’s Game – HOME vs. Columbus Academy – Senior Show
• Voting Day (Tuesday Nov. 3) – NO SCHOOL for Students – Teacher In-Service Day
• Ram Band Concert – Thursday Nov. 12 @ 7PM – WYHS Auditorium
• Ram Band Picture Day – All Day @ WYHS – Individual Pictures are REQUIRED to be taken; but ONLY encouraged to be purchased! (More details soon…)
• Ram Band Banquet – DATE CHANGE - Monday Nov. 16 @ 6PM – Whitehall Community Park (originally scheduled for Tues. Nov. 17)
• Thanksgiving Holiday Break – NO SCHOOL – Wednesday-Friday Nov. 25-27
• Rosemore Bands Holiday Concert – Tuesday Dec. 8 (Extra Credit for those who attend and have a program signed by Mrs. Pierce-Stoots or Mr. Boyd Tressler)
• WYHS Bands Holiday Concert – Thursday Dec. 10

Kudos #1 – Rams Football – Nice job gents!!!

Kudos #2 – Rams Soccer – Qualifying for the Tournament and Hosting this Thursday Night!!

Kudos #3 – Rams Volleyball – Qualifying for the Tournament and taking on East tomorrow night @ Pickerington Central!

Kudos #4 – Ram Band, Ramettes, Aries Guard – Toughing out the weather last Friday. Not pleasant at all.

Kudos #5 – Lakewood Lancer Band – Free Cookies are ALWAYS GOOD!!!

Good to see more smiling faces this week. I hope we’re all over the flu and can finish the season strong!

Week 8 - Parent/Teacher Conferences/On the Road @ Lakewood

Great job last Friday night to everyone! Mother Nature was working against us but we persevered and put on another great performance. Special thanks to those alumni for sticking through the weather!!!

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Tuesday & Thursday this week; 4-7:30PM at WYHS. Remember, if the Ram Band practices on Thursday, I’ll only be available until 5:30. Please email me to schedule a time or stop on by when you’re hear.

Back to the Band Camp Show: We’re back to the band camp show this week and next; but the Senior Show is close on the horizon. We’ll be passing that music out Wednesday; so make sure you’re practicing at home. It will be here before you know it.

Here’s the schedule for the week:

1) Monday: Get some rest! We had 15+ band, Ramette, and Aries Guard members out sick today. Chicken Soup, Lots of orange juice, and rest will certainly help.

2) Tuesday: Parent/Teacher Conferences – Day 1 – 4:00-7:30PM

3) Wednesday: Senior Show music goes out; band camp show back on the field.

4) Thursday: 12^th period – Music Checks // Parent Teacher Conferences – Day 2 – 4:00-7:30PM // Thursday Night Sectional/Rehearsal – Tentative as long as band works really hard Wed/Thur during day.

5) Friday: NO SCHOOL (COTA DAY) – Road Game @ Lakewood

FRIDAY BAND CALL: 5:15PM

FRIDAY UNIFORM: WINTER

FRIDAY FORECAST: Cold w/ Rain possible (again….)

Week 7 - Homecoming 2009

Greetings to everyone included on this email (HELLO ALUMNI!!!). First, let’s take a look ahead to next week…

Next Tuesday & Thursday afternoon/evening are Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4:00-7:30PM. Special note: Ram Band, Aries Guard, and Ramettes - Please make every attempt to schedule your conferences on Tuesday or Thursday from 4:00-5:30. Ram Band Rehearsal will still take place from 6-9PM.

Next Friday, Oct. 16 is COTA Day – there is NO SCHOOL but yes, we have a game on the road vs. Lakewood. In lieu of 12^th period class, I may move Band Call earlier if a rehearsal is necessary.

Now, back to the present… Its Homecoming Week 2009!!!! Its going to be an exciting and busy week for the Ram Band and Alumni Band. Great Traditions continue this year with our Pregame and Halftime Shows!!! Please consult the schedule below:
