- Pre-Band Camp Rehearsals: Tonight, Wednesday, & Friday – 7:00-8:30PM – for all band members whether they plan on attending band camp or not. Getting a head start on music and marching is ALWAYS the best policy.
- Band Camp Meeting & Potluck: Don’t forget this Thursday evening!!!! Our yearly family band camp meeting will begin at 7:00PM in the WYHS Auditorium. NEW FOR 2009!!!! WIMBA will be hosting a Family Potluck Dinner for all band members and their families immediately following the meeting. We will be providing hot dogs, refreshments, and table service. We ask each family to bring one side dish or dessert to share. This is an opportunity for our band families, WIMBA, and band staff to meet, chat, and discuss band-related activities.
- Band Camp is only 6 days away!!!! That’s right. We leave this Sunday for Camp Willson in Bellefontaine, OH. All band campers should report to the band room @ 12:15PM with gear in tow. We’ll depart at 1:00PM. Be sure to read all information in your packet pertaining to what to bring, what not to bring, and how to have the best experience.
- Hydration: As everyone knows by now, I’m a HUGE proponent of water. Mother Nature has finally kicked in the humidity and heat of summer. I ask everyone to drink plenty of water before and after all rehearsals. Please avoid energy drinks such as Monster, Rockstar, and Amp. Caffeine only provides a quick boost in heat and humidity but it can dehydrate you just as fast; Water is long lasting. Hydration is the key to surviving and conquering the heat!!!
- OU Band Day Tickets: Tickets for the Ohio University football game on Sept. 5 are available for sale through the band office. Only $10 per person to watch the Marching “Ram” Band perform with the Ohio University Marching 110 and other great high school bands from across Ohio.
- Football Program Pictures: This Wednesday at 7:00PM, the pictures for the fall football program will be taken in the stadium. All Marching “Ram” Band, Aries Guard, and Ramettes should arrive early dressed in their summer uniform for the pictures. Once pictures are complete, we will continue with regularly scheduled rehearsal. Be sure to bring a quick change of clothes so you don’t get your uniform dirty.
